MARKETING/SOCIAL MEDIA

Looking for 2 passionate Interns with strong skills and experience in Social Media. Candidate can work out of their own home. Interns will be helping with the following department: writing of press releases, newsletter articles, publishing, Publicity, acquisitions, grassroots outreach, post production… Interns will also help out with sorting youtube clips, conducting media research, writing press releases and programming notes, assisting in organizing internal/external events, working press events.  The position will be work closely with our Creative Director to design and produce marketing and promotional materials, advertisements, print publications and sales presentations for performing and literary arts events. You will have the opportunity to work on multiple campaigns from concept development and implementation to creative production.

Candidate requirements:
** All Intern applicants must have a personal laptop and a reliable car. Those who do not comply with the above need not apply.
– Internship will have a strong focus on social media, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, Photoshop
– Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people of all levels; team player
– Strong verbal and written communication skills
– Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize work (i.e. Punctual, strong planning and organizing skills)
– Ability to work independently
-Recent Grad or currently enrolled in a communications/marketing program

Responsibilities include:
– Basic assistance in updating and maintaining artist/label sites and facebook/ twitter spaces
– Help maintain and update the company’s databases
– Help create artist marketing updates
– Image re-sizing and audio/video file conversions
– Contribute to our marketing efforts with creative input

This position can lead to a permanent position in the company. This is an unpaid on and off site position with lots of opportunity to gain a wealth of experience and possibly lead to a full time position. Those selected should be willing to work 16-24 hours every week. The intern must be an enrolled student or a recent graduate.  Interns will receive unrivaled professional experience. It is the intention of Island Faith Ministries to provide each intern with as much practical experience as possible in a limited time. The position begins February 1st and concludes December 31st, 2012.

Belle Events, LLC has an open, non-paid internship position, for an Event Coordinator.
We are seeking a “take charge” professional with ability to manage administration and logistics in support of two directors in a busy special events environment.

Assist with coordination of up to 100 events per year. Must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision, and be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends. The event coordinator should have a love for special event management, provide outstanding customer service, be an enthusiastic professional, and be able to build relationships with internal and external customers.

Event Planning and Production

  • Assist with negotiations for space contracts and book event space, arrange food and beverage, order supplies and audiovisual equipment, make travel arrangements, order event signs, and ensure appropriate décor (florals, linens, color schemes, etc.) to meet the quality expectations of the alumni association.
  • Aggressively gather information on each project to achieve quality event productions.
  • Conduct research, make site visits, and find resources to help staff make decisions about event possibilities.
  • Create and revised room layouts for each event.
  • Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process.
  • Serve as liaison with vendors on event-related matters.
  • Assist with managing on-site production and clean up for events as necessary.
  • Prepare nametags, materials, notebooks, packages, gift bags, registration lists, seating cards, etc.
  • Close out all events as required.

Event Administration:

  • Assist with preparing budgets and provide periodic progress reports to staff directors for each event project.
  • Keep track of event finances including check requests, invoicing, and reporting.
  • Coordinate appointments and visits to see our space, and scheduling of events on the calendar.
  • Prepare and modify event contracts as requested

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of staff and volunteers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism.
  • Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision.
  • Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.
  • Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and mail merges; email and web searches.

ADMINISTRATIVE INTERNSHIP

Island Faith specializes in Spoken word poetry, theatre and other facets of the arts; the company is currently seeking 2 reliable Administrative Project Associates to assist with multiple accounts and general administrative duties.
Candidate requirements:
-Must be enthusiastic and self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
-Must be detail oriented and have impeccable writing, phone and communication skills.
-Must work well in a team environment with the ability to multi-task
-45wpm+; -MS Word and Excel a MUST.
-Must be available a minimum of 3days a week.
-Must be a TEAM PLAYER and a quick learner
-Professional demeanor and able to handle confidential / sensitive information
-Should have an outstanding attitude and an eagerness to learn

                   VIDEO/MULTIMEDIA

    Interested Communication Study / Media Students
2 temporary internship positions are available for the 2012 year Island Faith Ministries’ Multimedia Department.  This position provides a unique opportunity in a lively setting.  Performing Arts footage will be shot and edited to appear frequently on the web, commercial television newscasts, and DVDs.  The videographer will work on weekly performances, monthly productions, as well as other events relevant to Island Faith.

Candidate requirements:
-Must be skilled, responsible, efficient, attentive to detail and able to make a commitment to the job. 
-Related experience in Videography and editing from jobs, involvement in on-campus organizations, or other internships is helpful.
-working knowledge of Photoshop and Final Cut Pro is preferred.
-Team Player.

- videographer and general production assistant duties
-Editing footage for web, promotions and DVD
— Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize work (i.e. Punctual, strong planning and organizing skills)
– Ability to work independently
— Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels; team player

This position can lead to a permanent position in the company. This is an unpaid on and off site position with lots of opportunity to gain a wealth of experience and possibly lead to full time junior designer.  A stipend may be offered depending on circumstances. Qualifying students will be asked to fill out an application and be interviewed, as the number of internships, particularly in specialist areas, is limited. Those selected should be willing to work 16-24 hours every week. The intern must be an enrolled student or a recent graduate.  Interns will receive unrivaled professional experience.
